OEP’s Annual Dinner 2008

19 Nov 2008

The OEP held its Annual Dinner on Thursday 13th November 2008 at Mansfield College, Oxford. Please take a look at our Photos.

The evening was very enjoyable and garnered some fruitful conversations about Learning and Skills. Our 120 guests discussed the following topics:

  • What are the top benefits that businesses can achieve by developing their people? How would you quantify those benefits so that everyone could recognise the return on investment?
  • How can leaders in further education and higher education provide additional value to local businesses? What can businesses offer in return?
  • How do you reconcile the ongoing investment of time and money in developing people at a time when surviving a global recession is on everyone’s agenda?
  • Oxfordshire businesses statistically have a poor track record of investing in the development of their people. What could be done to make a step change in these results and who are the stakeholders that should work together to make a difference?

View the outcome of these discussions here.

OEP would like to thank our sponsors UKAEA, Business Link, and Unipart for contributing to the Dinner - and to Elaine McKechnie of Oxford Innovation for doing a wonderful job of organising the event.
