New Chairman for Oxfordshire Economic Partnership
25 Jan 2007
Frank Nigriello has been announced as the new Chairman of the Oxfordshire Economic Partnership, a network of public and private sector partners committed to achieving success for the economy of Oxfordshire.
Frank is the Director of Corporate Affairs at Unipart Group of Companies, one of Oxfordshire’s largest employers and a leader in developing people and leading-edge management practices, such as its pioneering implementation of “lean” thinking. Frank says “The OEP is uniquely placed to facilitate a wide range of stakeholders in working together to develop new ideas for strategic economic actions, share current ideas and best practice and resolve contentious issues that can inhibit growth and prosperity. I’m very much looking forward to building on the excellent work that has been done in the past and using that as a platform to address the critical issues facing our county in the future.”
As he welcomed Frank, John Bridgeman, Chairman for the last 6 years said, “Oxfordshire hosts various educational, scientific and technological centres of excellence, contributing to a strong and successful economy but we must not be complacent, our economy is changing and Oxfordshire is not growing as it ought to. Frank will have new challenges to face and I look forward to continuing to work with him and the rest of the Partnership through those challenges. It has definitely been a great pleasure working with the partners of the Oxfordshire Economic Partnership over the years and I hope Frank benefits from the same levels of enjoyment and inspiration that I have.”
With the launch of the Economic Development Strategy for Oxfordshire in May 2006, the Oxfordshire Economic Partnership has clear objectives for the economy of Oxfordshire, focusing on economic growth without detriment to Oxfordshire’s stunning environment and its residents’ quality of life. The Economic Development Strategy for Oxfordshire is available on this website.
