Let's Talk Starting In Business Event

The OEP is delighted to announce that it has joined up with NFEA, the national enterprise network, Business Link and Oxfordshire Business Enterprises to offer a free training seminar providing guidance on how to start a business and survive and thrive in this climate. The seminar is open to all those exploring the dream of working for themselves.

The event will take place during Global Entrepreneurship Week, on 16th November from 5.30 pm until 9.00 pm at the Oxford Spires Hotel. Let’s Talk Starting in Business is sponsored by Barclays and is for people who are about to set up; it focuses on how to write a good business plan, source finance and manage cash flow, and also examines legal requirements, taxation and VAT and marketing.

Tom_EdgeThe seminar will be delivered by Tom Edge – a leading motivational speaker who has helped over 25,000 individuals through his programs.

For over 25 years Tom Edge has been successfully helping small businesses set up, survive and prosper, to the extent that he is now seen as the UK’s Number One Business Guru.

Age is no barrier. One of Tom’s missions is to get the Over 50’s into business for themselves by providing encouragement and insight to anyone thinking of starting their own enterprise or who are already up and running but need fresh inspiration. Tom has helped over 25,000 businesses in this way through his Seminars and Workshops, and even though he has a string of blue-chip companies under his belt he prefers to help smaller and one-person businesses wherever he can, setting up his own company ‘Training Projects’ – to do so, running Enterprise Awareness Seminars for the Over 50’s, Women In Business and minority groups.

A successful businessman in his own right (he was running a small steelworks by the age of 32) Tom is practical and down to earth. He has no airs and graces – he tells it like it is with a sprinkle of warm Black Country humour. And at 61 he’s a ‘Baby Boomer’ who knows very well what the Boomers want and need – and can give it to them.
